Products
Our product range consists of various reclaimed materials from coastal and port construction.
Actual availability varies depending on the product and is subject to our partners’ demolition projects; we are therefore unable to guarantee availability at all times.
Regardless of current availability, please do not hesitate to contact us at an early stage if you require specific materials. We will be happy to assist you in finding suitable options through our network.
The following list describes the most common product categories of reclaimed materials. The list is not exhaustive, but is intended merely to provide a general overview of what we offer.
Wood
Product examples:
- Various types of timber, such as basralocus, bongossi or oak
- Poles, beams and decking boards
Reusability:
- Reuse in jetty construction
- but also potential applications in furniture making, particularly for outdoor use
Treatment:
Wooden posts, such as dolmens, are subject to weathering mainly in areas exposed to oxygen. Posts used in jetty construction, on the other hand, are predominantly in the ground or permanently submerged. Under these conditions, the biological degradation of the wood is greatly slowed down, so that the material is often still in very good condition even after many years.
If the piles are cut back to remove the above-ground sections or those exposed to oxygen and, where applicable, weathered areas, the remaining wood can usually be reused without restriction.
GRP
Product examples:
- GRP grating panels
- GRP beams
Reusability:
GRP has been increasingly used in port construction for around 20 years. The typical service life of GRP beams is 50–100 years. If GRP components are dismantled during renovation work, they can be reused in similar structures within their service life.
Reconditioning:
GRP grating panels must be thoroughly cleaned and inspected for damage. No further treatment is normally required.
Metal
Product examples:
- Steel beams
- Pipes with/without PE coating
Reusability:
Reuse in structural engineering, taking into account the remaining material thickness.
Reconditioning:
Steel beams can often be reused immediately after demolition. This requires an inspection for corrosion, deformation, cracks and any other damage that could compromise their load-bearing capacity.
If the girders are in technically sound condition, they can be reused as load-bearing components after preparation, for example through cleaning, derusting and, where necessary, the renewal of anti-corrosion coatings.
Jetty equipment
Product examples:
- Cleats
- Jetty supply columns
- Stainless steel fasteners
Reusability:
Reuse in jetty fittings.
Reconditioning:
Fittings, such as cleats, only need to be cleaned and checked for damage and corrosion. They can then be reused.
More complex equipment, such as supply columns, requires a much more thorough inspection, particularly of electrical or electronic components. In this context, reuse tends to be limited to cost-effective second-hand parts for clubs or private use.
